Integrating resilient designs into new and existing buildings help to enhance climate emergency preparedness and supports the community to feel empowered in their ability to respond to the effects of climate change (wildfires, floods, poor air quality).

The Climate Action & Environmental Stewardship Team is currently developing a 'ClimateSmart' program which integrates Kelowna's community FireSmart services including guidance on how residents can make their home more fire resilient.
