Description
Peak demand periods can strain energy systems and collaborating with utilities to reduce peak demands help keeps utility rates lower for all ratepayers by preventing overbuilding of energy infrastructure.
Kelowna distributes information to residents to help support participation in utility demand-response programs.
FortisBC currently offers the Power Hours Rewards Program. Under this program, FortisBC electricity customers (which includes Kelowna residents) can earn bill credits when they sign up their smart thermostat, electric vehicle (EV), or EV charger and use less electricity during busy times.
