Description
As the increased frequency and intensity of wildfire season occurs in the coming years, it is important to ensure that residents feel empowered to maintain healthy air quality from inside of homes in smoky conditions.
Through a partnership with the BREATHE Project from Simon Fraser University and the BC Lung Foundation, the City of Kelowna hosts workshops throughout the summer teaching residents how to make their own air purifiers out of accessible and affordable materials. In addition to the workshops and materials, City staff provide education and resources on the importance of indoor air quality, exposure risks, and measures residents can take to protect themselves.
