Description
The term municipal natural assets refers to the stock of natural resources or ecosystems that a municipality, regional district, or other form of local government could rely upon or manage for the sustainable provision of one or more local government services.
The City worked with the Municipal Natural Asset Initiative (MNAI) in 2021 to develop a natural asset inventory. This inventory along with other datasets (e.g., sensitive ecosystem inventory) can be used to prioritize restoration locations and support climate adaptation efforts.
