N3.2Develop and implement a strategy to monitor changes to sensitive ecosystems.

The City of Kelowna has invested in two Sensitive Ecosystem Inventories (2009, 2021) based on provincial inventory protocols to ensure consistent evaluation. However, staff are investigating how the SEI can be updated to ensure critical habitat and wildlife corridors can be better identified.

The 2021 SEI was completed in 2024. Data will be leveraged in the 2025 update of the OCP Natural Environment Development Permit Area.
