Unlocking emissions reductions from transportation of goods and materials can help to achieve Kelowna's climate targets.
To help goods move efficiently and foster a growing economy, the 2040 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) recommends the development of a Regional Goods Movement Strategy. This strategy would support goods movement, including deliveries and curb management, and policies to right-size delivery vehicles in Urban Centres.
Continued the Central Okanagan Regional Goods Movement Study in partnership with the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, which identifies strategies to ensure the sustainable and efficient movement of goods as our region grows, including decarbonization of commercial goods movement in alignment with the Clean BC Roadmap to 2030.
