T8.1Advocate for continual and consistent funding levels for the BC Scrap-It program to help get older, high-polluting vehicles off the road

In earlier years, significant rebates were provided through the Scrap-It Program for early retirement of older internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles that are replaced with electric vehicles. There was also a rebate of available for regular E-Bikes purchased by individuals and businesses when retiring an older ICE vehicle. These incentives proved effective at incentivizing new EVs and E-bikes, and consequently getting older ICE vehicles off the road.

Currently, only a rebate of $300 cash is provided is provided as an incentive to retire an older ICE vehicle.
