Energy Step Code and Zero Carbon Step code are the key policies to ensure that new buildings in Kelowna are energy efficient and low carbon.

Kelowna completed an industry readiness survey in 2025 to understand local barriers and opportunities in relation to these policies. Further engagement and analysis will be completed as these policies advance to higher steps.
