Description
In 2022 and 2023, the City completed a Climate Vulnerability and Risk Assessment to identify the main climate hazards and associated risks expected over the next fifty years, with a particular focus on the people and places most vulnerable. The study identified three prevalent local climate hazards (wildfires, extreme heat, and flooding) and provided qualitative insights on other local climate hazards (e.g., landslides, invasive species).
The City’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) System is a structured, ongoing process to identify, assess, report on, and address threats and opportunities affecting organizational objectives. Given the serious risk posed by climate hazards, proactive management of these and other risks remains crucial.
