Our urban forest is an essential part of climate resilience, as well as the community’s character, livability, and biodiversity. The Sustainable Urban Forest Strategy (SUFS) provides a 10-year implementation plan and monitoring framework guiding Kelowna's urban forest management.

The SUFS identifies numerous actions relevant to climate resilience.

The SUFS was endorsed by Council in 2024. Following this, updated tree canopy targets from the SUFS were added to the 2040 Official Community Plan.
